Broken Polaroids

One winter day a relationship I had ended, and I decided at the moment that I needed to get out of the city and return to nature. Grabbing my Polaroid SX-70 I hadn’t used in a while, I left for the mountains. The first images I took were jamming in the camera. The rollers filled with film gunk, and the images weren’t developing right. Before the images appeared, I was frustrated with everything. Why wasn’t this working? Then the images slowly faded in with their magical quality and all felt right. What originally were simple landscape images became something much more.
